For 2 years, I suffered from peri-menopause syndrome with heavy bleeding and uterine fibroid tumor. I had very bad bleeding periods, hot flashes and no energy. I felt tired, achy, and irritable. My condition caused inconvenience at work, but I thought that it was part of life and I accepted it.
They also prescribed birth control pills, which I did not take. In August, 2004, I had a D&C (Dilation and Curettage) operation for the heavy bleeding. I still had anemia afterwards and nothing changed shortly after D&C.
